What do you think of Diogenes' philosophy? Should we take Diogenes' philosophy more seriously or must we dismiss it as too negative and unpractical?
I think Diogenes’ philosophy is a way to purify our mindsets and make us reflect on our life filled with conventions. We should take his philosophy more seriously and critically and don’t judge it on one side without paying attention its the other side.Diogenes’ philosophy is positive because it points out our degradation in extravagant and false things and tries to convince to live just simply, freely and naturally. But we should realize that no one is an island. We live together in a large community and society and we can’t avoid some rules we must obey.If we just remember our initial thought, keep moral and stand in other shoes,we can also live simply, freely and naturally.
I think Diogenes' philosophy can give us some thinking about life, but in today's society, although Diogenes' philosophy has certain rationality, for example, to live a free, natural, simple life, close to nature; However, it is not quite in line with the reality of the current society. We are dominated by social conventions in our lives and accept all kinds of social cs. We can't abandon them. So we can absorb some of Diogenes' philosophy, but we can't take Diogenes' philosophy more seriously.
Diogenes' philosophy is very close to the ancient Chinese Taoist thought, which is to rule without doing anything and to follow the natural way. I think we should take Diogenes' philosophy more seriously. Most people are trapped by secular prosperity and wealth, forming class divisions, and spend their lives crossing classes or making a living, losing a lot of pure happiness. The core of cynicism is to give up material desire, pursue the truth, expose the hypocrisy of the world, and seek spiritual freedom.
In my opinion, the philosophy of Diogenes is very valuable and worthy of our reflection. He critically proposed that people should live simply, not pursue fame and wealth, and not be bound by other things. This is well worth our consideration. But in today's rapidly developing society, the society needs to develop, we also need to progress, and then the goal will be more and more, we become the pursuit of luxury and complex life. At the same time, we will also abandon some of the rules and order, but these rules and order are the security of our life today, so the philosophy of Diogenes is well worth studying and thinking about.
I think that Diogenes' philosophy can make people pay attention to their words and actions, not become greedy for personal desires, and can promote the development of society towards a better direction. I think we should value Diogenes' philosophy, constantly reflect on our own behavior and behavior, and promote personal development.
Diogene's philsophy is very novel and instructive. when I saw the sentence"He depends on them, he worries about them, he spends most of his life's energy looking after them; the thought of losing them makes him sick with anxiety. They possess him. He is their slave. " It occurred to me that I am the slave of money, the more I want to earn money, the more I will be afraid of losing them. Diogene is right, he has nothing to lose, so he is free.
I think Diogenes'philosophy is worth thinking about. He insisted that all should live naturally, for what is natural is normal and cannot possibly by evil or shameful. We should live without conventions, which are artificial and wrong. Nowadays, most of people are trapped by social conventions. They work for money, for a better life which make them usually feel tired. So I think Diogenes' philosophy can make them pursue their freedom.
I think there's a part of Diogenes' philosophy that is suitable for modern people to learn. Diogenes believed that people should live in accordance with nature, and nowadays most people have always lived in luxury. On the other hand, Diogenes did not care about the world's thoughts and did not seek fame, he was a truly free man.
But Diogenes' way of life was more like that of primitive people, such as doing his business like a dog at the roadside, drinking spring water, and picking up food on the ground to eat. So we should look at his philosophical ideas dialectically. If we all learn the Diogenesian way of life, we will definitely make ourselves sick and destabilize the social order.
I think that Diogenes' philosophy is a very important guide for life nowadays. He believed that a person's happiness should not depend on external objects but on the heart, and that in modern times most of us are always seeking too much, which leads to the loss of happiness, and he also believed that true happiness comes from good morals and self-discipline. But in my opinion it is very difficult to get rid of the attraction of material things, after all, the material determines the consciousness, so I always think that a gentleman loves his money and takes what he can get. But Diogenes did not force others to accept his philosophical ideas. In conclusion, although some people think his ideas are too extreme, I think his philosophical concepts are profound and great.
As a philosopher, Diogenes advocate for natural and free way of life, expose the hypocrisy and uselessness of major traditional principles and doctrine, and appeal for people to get back to the ideal natural state of life. From my vantage point, I'm a believer in perceiving Diogenes' philosophy critically and rationally, selecting the essence and discarding the gross. On the one hand, in such a contemporary world characterized by people who are preoccupied with pursuing self-satisfaction and high living standards, a good many individuals carry a lot of pressure and struggle in the pursuit of luxurious lifestyles. Owing to this, I deem we are supposed to take Diogenes' simple way of life for reference, developing into a man of simple life and rich spirit. On the other hand, Diogenes' philosophy has extreme and unrealistic aspects in many ways, including encouraging us to completely give up comfortable environment, trying to overturn all traditional values, and forgoing all material and sensual pleasures. At it were, these extreme ideas run counter to our current social development and compromise the progree of our times.
I think we should reflect on Diogenes' philosophy.
Cynic philosophy teaches that the goal and purpose of life is to be happy-not to be rich, not to be admired, not to be learned, but simply to be happy. The wise man is not enslaved by custom and "what other people think"; his wealth lies in his freedom from all the restraints of "civilization." You possess wealth, power, and honor; you depend on them; you are also possessed by them and become their slave. Once most people have money, they want more money. Some people may also want power and fame after having a lot of money, so they gradually lose their heart in the pursuit of fame and fortune. Therefore, we should seriously consider Diogenes' philosophy, take its essence and discard its dross.
I think we should take Diogenes' philosophy more seriously. Diogony cast aside false customs and luxuries, and he lived a truly free life. Modern people are almost no one is really free, we have been pursuing false and flashy things, thinking that if we earn enough money, we can get the life we want, we can be free. We think we're free but the fact is we are dominated by these things.
I think we should take Diogenes' philosophy seriously. We can do what we want without considering others' thoughts, but it's not the only way to realize the freedom that we want. We should consider more carefully about whether our desire to freedom will influence others' life. I think we should reach our goal in a more proper way.
I think we should take Diogenes' philosophy more seriously, but we should keep a critical attitude. In Diogenes' cynicism philosophy, he believed that anything except natural needs must be satisfied, including social and cultural life, was unnatural and unimportant. He encougered the abandoment of comfort and lived like a dog. I think the abandonment of waste and extravagances in some ways is reasonable, because it can help people to find the original intention. But he thought people should live like a dog, I think it's incorrect. In fact, we can find the true meaning of life with other many meaningful ways.
I think we should treat his philosophy dialectically and learn from it in practice. First, he advanced the cynical view that man should live freely and naturally, and advocated the elimination of waste and complexity. These ideas are also applicable to us now, and it is worth learning. However, some of his views are not worth advocating. He lived like a dog, which is uncivilized in our modern society, and he was indifferent to the war. These views are too self-focused, people still need to integrate into the society and make contributions to the society. Therefore, we should treat his philosophy dialectically.
Diogenes' philosophy is intelligent, valuable, and unattainable. Diogenes' creeds attacked on the Greek social background of the time, and his ideas embodied a kind of Greek democracy. Unitil now, this belief has played an important role in advancing human understanding of freedom. In my opinion, this idea is not imaginary, but it is difficult to come true in today's society. Cynicism is in s sense a relentless contempt for material goods. If everone lived in this way, social civilization would come to a standstill.
I think Diogenes' philosophy deserves to be taken seriously. He goes after nature and doesn't waste time on unnecessary things. In modern society, things move faster than we can solve problems, and we don't need to mess up our lives with clutter. But it is not that we should be passive, we should choose to do things that are meaningful to us in our daily life, rather than putting everything in mind and adding trouble to ourselves.
His philosophical ideas are worth thinking, some of which require us to accept and emulate, but some are no longer in line with the laws of our current era.For example, the way he portrays himself in the text is considered extreme self-interest in today's society, and it is a behavior that many people dislike nowadays. But his pursuit of philosophy and truth is worth learning from.
In my opinion, the philosophical part of Diogenes is worth taking. We should take Diogenes' philosophy seriously.
In real life, people are, as Diogenes said, too delicate, too tired. Therefore, we should learn Diogenes' philosophy, simplify and liberalize life, and make ourselves happy. Do not worry too much about things, so as to lose the original meaning; do not overspend, extravagance, do not let money blind our eyes, to maintain the original heart, looking for the real value of life.
But we can't all follow Diogenes' philosophy. We should have our own moral bottom line, have the concept of propriety and shame, can not be like Diogenes completely return to nature, and abandon our original basic etiquette norms, to live simply, but also can follow certain moral norms, to grasp the degree. Only in this way can our life be comfortable and happy!
I think Diogenes' philosophy has some truth and is worth pondering. I admire nature as much as he does, but I cannot pursue true freedom of soul as he does. His philosophical ideas have a certain guide to the development of our society today, teaching us how to deal with the relationship between man and nature and interpersonal communication. But his approach seems to me to be too extreme and worth learning from but not emulating.
Diogenes' philosophy is worth pondering, and there is something to be learned from it, in this fast-paced, high-consumption era. In his cynicism, it is worth learning from him to stay away from the complicated and luxurious life and advocate a simple and natural life. Because there is too much extravagance and waste in life now, a lot of things lose their value in vain, which has a great impact on our lives and the earth. At this point, we are going to study the philosophy of Diogenes. We should take his philosophy seriously, take its essence and eliminate its dross, make good use of what is good for us and worth learning, and learn to discard or transform what is bad.
Diogenes' philosophy was great in ancient Greece, but his philosophy does not apply to contemporary times.Diogenes was an admirer of nature and an advocate of simplicity. His philosophy of cynicism is now also known as cynical。We should accept his ideas dialectically.Sometime his philosophy can encourage us to actively explore and create our own values. But now cynicism has turned into utter distrust。This distrust leads to our lack of faith and satire of our real world. So no, cynicism doesn't help us see reality more clearly, but we don't have to accept it. We can take control of our stories.
I think Diogenes' philosophy is a hard-won human ideology. In his time, most people pursed material satisfaction. However, Diogenes chose to live simply and freely. His doctrine emphasized the importance of simplicity and freedom from social conventions. This philosophy encourages people to think independently and question unreasonable social norms. And so it is why i think that we should take Diogenes' philosophy seriously.
I think his philosophy is what I can understand but not fulfill. In our rapid developing society, too many people are trapped in the prison of chasing fame and fortune, losing their ways and following the suit. We need to learn from Diogenes that he always followed his heart and devoted himself to expounding his doctrine. Moreover, we should not care too much about other people's views, just do as ourselves. But we should keep pace with the times too, only in this way can we stay ahead of the times.
I think Diogenes’ philosophy is very different from our common convention, but it makes sense for somebody who likes Cynicism. We should take it more seriously and don’t dismiss it because we all should reflect that if we are really comfortable living in such a complex and artificial environments, should we do anything meaningful to convert people come back to a natural and simple world.
I think Diogenes' philosophy is worth for us to think deeply and explore its essence, and gain something from it. In fact, we should take Diogenes' philosophy more seriously, however, with the development of the society, people's consciousness is awakening, they value their privacy and have a sense of shame, so it is not realistic to fully implement his philosophy into our modern life, things have to move forward. But there are also lessons to be learned from his philosophy, we modern people focus too much on anything that includes property, fame and so on but ourselves which causes excessive stress. So at times we should think about Diogenes ' philosophy and realize that we aren't supposed to obsess ourselves with procuring these things all the time.
I think Diogenes' philosophy is worth pondering. In the society at that time, where everyone was addicted to material things, he put forward the idea of pursuing independence and freedom, which is very worthy of our reference and learning. He pursued the truth all his life, put material things in the last place, and truly lived for himself.
Diogenes' ideas are of great value to modern people. Although some aspects seem difficult to accept at present, it cannot be denied that he is free and unrestrained. Modern people cannot fully accept their ideas, but they can gain useful aspects from them, such as not being too concerned about others' opinions and being brave enough to be themselves.
I think some of his ideas are still significative to our lives today. For example, he proposses us to live simply and freely. And we should not take Diogenes' philosophy more seriously. Now, more and more people are feeling stressed in our lives, so why not we study the ideas form Diogenes and give ourselves a break.
