Take the same introduction of the police commissioner as an example, If the speaker is addressing
a group of members of the city council instead of elementary-school children, the introduction
might go something like this:

today the police commissioner, who will address us on the subject of the community policing
program. Most of you know that the commissioner has a distinguished record as head of our
