I really enjoy reading The Rite of Spring because it balances warm, personal storytelling with surprisingly deep insights into life, growth, and human nature. Arthur Miller doesn’t just talk about gardening—he uses this everyday hobby as a mirror to reflect on our hopes, flaws, and need for connection to the natural world. Miller uses gentle irony to make his points stick. For example, he jokes that Adam was the first gardener, and even though his story didn’t end well, gardening is still the perfect job for humans because it lets us keep hope alive.

I think this essay is very well-written and rich in content.

On the one hand, it employs a variety of writing techniques such as personification

and exaggeration, creating an immersive experience for readers and helping them better understand the text.

On the other hand, the use of elliptical sentences and parenthetical expressions also strengthens the overall narrative structure of the essay.

All in all, the author demonstrates outstanding literary talent.

I think The Rite of Spring is great! The author’s writing is really fun to read, not too formal at all. That whole “hot dogs vs. green veggies” bit is such a clever, relatable way to show how much he actually cares about gardening. It starts like a silly joke, but you can tell by the end how deeply passionate he is about growing things. Plus, his descriptions of the garden are so vivid—talking about the smell of the soil, the first little sprouts popping up, even the quiet excitement of waiting for seeds to grow. It makes you feel like you’re right there with him in the garden, experiencing that same joy. It’s just such a warm, charming read overall!

I like The Rite of Spring very much. It’s light, funny, and easy to follow.

The author writes really well. For example, he uses simple, clear words to talk about his garden and spring, like  “the scent of the earth in April.” He also adds funny lines, such as saying he’d rather eat “juicy and fat” hot dogs than vegetables. And i think these simple but vivid details make the story lively and fun to read.

I really like this article. The author's literary talent is remarkable: for instance, by using personification to make spring vivid and lively, and by employing the technique of first raising expectations then lowering them to draw readers' attention, the writing is delicate and has a strong appeal. It has both educational value and aesthetic value.

1.I think this essay is really well-written. The writer mixes personal feelings with scenery, writes in soft, beautiful language, and can make ordinary spring scenes feel meaningful and touching.

2.(1)He writes about the smell of spring earth, the warm sunlight, and the lively birds. You can almost see and feel spring right in front of you.

(2)He gives nature human feelings, like saying the sun “means business”. It makes spring lively and interesting, not plain at all.

I really enjoy The Rite of Spring. I think the metaphor, personification and exaggeration used by the author in the article fully reflect the author's literary talent. The contrast between language and behavior in the article is a reflection of his talent. For example, he said at the beginning of the article that he would not plant again, but in fact he insisted on taking care of the vegetable garden.

I really enjoy The Rite of Spring. The author’s literary talent shines in how he blends humor, imagination, and genuine passion. He uses playful contrasts, like the joke about planting "rows of hot dogs" at the beginning, then shifts to sincerely celebrating green vegetables. Even writing in winter, he vividly imagines the warmth of spring and sprouting seeds, turning simple farming into a poetic, heartfelt rite of spring.

I believe The Rite of Spring is an essay where the author conveys his genuine love for gardening. He uses humor to talk about all the troubles and frustrations of gardening, even jokingly claiming he will never plant anything again the next year. Yet, he never really gives up on it. This contrast perfectly reveals his true passion for gardening.

I like reading The Rite of Spring. It’s warm, humorous, and full of vivid descriptions of farming life, which makes the topic feel both down-to-earth and touching. One example that shows the author’s literary talent is his use of humorous contrast. Early in the essay, he playfully imagines “planting rows of hot dogs” as a silly alternative to growing real vegetables. This funny, absurd idea not only makes readers laugh but also sets up a later contrast. When he writes that “green vegetables are much more lovely than rows of hot dogs,” the shift from irony to sincere affection feels natural and powerful. This simple, clever contrast perfectly shows his love for the land and traditional farming, without being preachy at all.

I think The Rite of Spring is a lively, interesting and philosophical essay.

The author uses gardening as a metaphor for life.He adopts writing skills such as metaphor and contrast. For example, he compares a garden to an extension of oneself. This is full of philosophy. However, he makes a contrast between hot dogs and green vegetables in the garden. He uses humorous vivid scenes to lighten the serious philosophical meaning of the essay. In addition, the author points out at the end that he writes this essay in cold winter. However, the whole passage describes the bright and beautiful spring. This sharp contrast shows the author’s deep love for gardening. Even in cold winter, he still looks forward to planting in spring. It also expresses his hope for the future.

I think The Rite of Spring is wonderful and meaningful. It shares the author’s gardening experiences and teaches us precious life lessons. For example, gardening can help build our character, and his wise opinions give me great life enlightenment.

The author uses many writing skills. The irony is obvious: he says he will never plant vegetables again and even feels gardening is intolerable, which hides his deep love for gardening. He also uses exaggeration and personification. He describes vines as if they would strangle you to show their vigorous growth, and compares plants to children. These devices make the text lively and interesting.

The author’s literary talent is impressive. He has an interesting inner conflict—he decides not to plant but still takes care of the garden. With plain simple language and humorous tone, he expresses complex feelings and deep thoughts on life through daily gardening.

The Rite of Spring is an outstanding work. The author uses self‑contradiction to reveal the charm of gardening. At first, he mocks growing vegetables by saying he would rather plant hot dogs than greens. But later, he admits the garden’s beauty far outshines hot dogs. This contrast highlights his sincere love for gardening. And in the essay, he described the fragrance of the soil, the bright sunshine in April, and the cheerful chirping of birds. These sensory details made the garden appear vivid and captivating, demonstrating his superb skill in depicting scenes through words.

I really enjoyed The Rite of Spring. What stands out to me isn't just what the author says, but how he says it. One example of his literary talent is the way he describes the piece of music as something almost alive—like it doesn't just start, but erupts, with rhythms that stomp and gasp and stumble. You can feel the chaos and the primal energy. Another is how he weaves the riot at the premiere into the description, not as a separate story, but as part of the music itself. The writing has a kind of controlled wildness, which is exactly what Stravinsky's score does. That takes real skill.
