I think the topic of the article is a discussion of martial relationships.We all know that racial discrimination it means one race believes that it is superior to another race but in this artical we can't get it. The whole article is about the different opinions between husband and wife. from the passage we learn that when the wife look unhappy the husband should stop but he talk even more we can learn that the husband is not as considerate as his friend said. They ended up like strangers show that her husband did not know his wife well enough. so I think it's a topical of the article is a discussion of marital relationship.
