Maintain my speaking length despite difficulties?

By qpqvUXqUpH 23天前 30次浏览

Maintaining speech at length without difficulty reflects fluency and confidence. However, I’m considering how to handle situations where I struggle to do so for certain questions. In other words, should I always provide extended answers, even when I find a question challenging? Or would it be more effective to give longer, more natural responses to questions I feel confident about while keeping my answers shorter—but still complete—for trickier ones to avoid unnecessary hesitation and difficulty in expanding? Or, to achieve a higher score—such as a 7 or even an 8—must I demonstrate the ability to speak at length without any difficulties for every question?

When you are hesitant,  there are perhaps two reasons. One is your knowledge gap, which means that you cannot answer the question well even in your mother tongue. In that case, sometimes, you are hesitant or delayed to give your response. You still might have the chance to get 7 or 8 in speaking. However, the other one is language problme, like lexical range. You are trying to search the words in mind during that time. This will definitely affect your speaking score.
