The Daffodils"?

It is very important to Wordsworth's natural philosophy. Wordsworth famously said: poetry is an overflow of powerful emotion recollected in tranquility. This inward-eye is related to this recollection. It is not what he saw on the sight; but what was left in his mind. It is actually his spiritual eye.

For one thing, through his inward-eye, Wordsworth can see the retrospective scenes which he has seen before and recalls his feelings at that time. For another, the inward-eye is the site for him to blend his mind with these sceneries in imagination, bringing pleasure to him.

the inward-eye I assume is a kind of ability to think and to feel. for wordsworth, the endless field of daffodils, their bright yellow color and the sudden encounter of them immediately caught his inward-eye and left an enormous effect on him.  the nature together with the inward-eye is an everlasting source of inspiration and tranquility for him.
