How does the figure of the harvester in "To Autumn" help to express the idea that beauty is found not in avoiding change, but in accepting it?

By portraying the harvester in this way—as a sleepy, patient, and receptive figure—Keats redefines our relationship with time and decay. The beauty of autumn is not in spite of its transience, but because of it. The harvester understands that the ripeness, the fullness, and the poignant beauty of the season are inextricably linked to its conclusion.

The figure teaches us that to truly appreciate a moment of peak beauty, we must accept its inevitable passing. We must be willing to sit on the "half-reaped furrow," to sleep amidst the work, and to find a serene, intoxicating beauty in the "last oozings" rather than fighting a futile battle against the end. In this acceptance, Keats suggests, lies a deeper, more profound, and more enduring form of beauty than any static, unchanging perfection could ever offer.
