从《蝈蝈与蟋蟀》的季节意象反差看济慈的“自然永恒”观

By 李溪2023级 18天前 11次浏览

In Keats’ “To a Grasshopper and a Cricket”, the poet takes “the grasshopper singing under the summer sun” and “the cricket chirping in the winter frost” as the core images. The former corresponds to the vigorous vitality of scenes like “when all birds are faint with the hot sun” and “the hedges about the new-mown mead”, while the latter is associated with the quiet coldness of scenes such as “on a lone winter evening” and “the person by the fireside feels drowsy”. Since the poem aims to convey the core view that “the music of nature never ceases”, why does Keats choose the contrasting seasonal scenes of summer and winter instead of transitional seasons like spring and autumn? Please combine key lines in the poem, such as “when the grasshopper’s song fades, the cricket’s chirp takes over” and “the poetry of earth is never dead”, to analyze the logical connection between this image choice and the theme of “eternal nature”.
