First, the characters in the myths are different.

Chinese mythology is characterized by the coexistence of man and beast, and most of its gods are half man and half beast.According to some people's statistics, among the more than 450 gods in the book of mountains and seas, there are about 1:4. gods in human form and non-human form. For example, the river god "ice yi", the water god "tian wu", the sea god "yu jing" and "yu", and the desert god "changcheng" are all human face and beast body, human face and bird tail or human head and snake body.

In Greek mythology, the gods had human form, human character and human emotion. The ancient greeks created gods in the image of man. They saw god as the most beautiful, the strongest, the wisest and the most powerful. The Greek gods, especially the chief deities, had undergone a fairly thorough "humanization." gods, like men, had joy, anger, sorrow, and joy, as well as the necessities of life such as food, drink, love, and birth. The Olympian gods are not only a symbol of the power of nature, but also a dramatic expression of human nature. For example, ares, the god of war, had an affair with Aphrodite, the goddess of love, and was discovered by her husband, hevis, the god of fire, who placed them in a net and sent them to the gods, to great laughter.

Second, the belief that humans come from different sources.

According to Chinese mythology, human beings originated from women. They took nu wa as the ancestor of human beings and said that she created a "spirit of all things" by kneadingloess to imitate her own appearance.

Greek mythology, on the other hand, held that man was descended from men. Prometheus was regarded as the progenitor of man.In the eyes of the greeks, Prometheus resisted violence and Zeus, stole fire from heaven for the benefit of mankind, and had the excellent qualities of a great man.

Third, they think of dominant forces differently.

In Chinese mythology, human will and spiritual power are dominant.Everything in the universe exists for man, and even god is in the service of man.Pangu split heaven and earth for human beings and supported them for 18,000 years. When the heaven and earth were firmly formed, they fell down and changed their bodies into all things on earth.

In Greek mythology, however, god was the center of a vast system of thought that revolved around him.In the ancient Greek people's eyes, god is the master of all things, even if the storm and lightning, the movement of the sun and the moon, the alternation of day and night, the cycle of the seasons, these irresistible phenomena are also controlled by god.God is omnipotent, omnipresent, immortal, that is, the universe exists, god exists. For example, during the Trojan war, the gods, who had been brewing a war for a golden apple for ten years, joined the warring parties separately, and repeatedly blew away the wills of the two armies to rekindle the battle.

From my point of view, there is too much difference between Greek mythology and Chinese mythology. Especially their characters and the spiritual concepts which both have a deep and further influence on the future world.

Gods behave quiet different in Greek mythology, compared with our traditional recognition. Let’s take Zeus as an example. He is undoubtedly the most powerful and attractive man in Greek mythology, with many beautiful wives and countless romantic fairs. In the story, he is very susceptible and like to seduce girls everywhere. Besides, selfish and vindictive are also his disadvantages. He punished human only because they didn’t respect him and then plunder the fire. After Prometheus stove the fire, Zeus gave him a terrible punishment. From this event, we can see how mean and rude Zeus is. However, in Chinese mythology, gods are often kind and helpful, who are selfless and willing to save the poor men. They always have a positive value view and shoulder strong responsibilities, such as Kua Fu who chased the sun until his death. Chinese people always view the gods as idols or heroes, believe they are so perfect that gods won’t have any shortages. All in all, Chinese gods are idealistic and illusory.

So we can draw a conclusion from these two culture. Greek gods are more like our normal people with some remarkable illusion, while Chinese gods are absolutely romantic and can only exist in people’ s dreams and books. I think it has a closely relationship with culture and spiritual concepts.

As we know, ancient Greek people held a realistic belief because of their local autonomy tradition and independent culture. So they believed through hard work and strong heart, they were bound to achieve their goals. They could be their own gods. Nevertheless, for ancient Chinese people who were oppressed deeply by feudalism, they hoped gods could save them one day and leaded them to the right way. From this angle, we can easily understand why Chinese gods only exist in dreams.

All in all, both Greek and Chinese mythology are cherish fortune to the world and their value will be passes down from generation to generation. We can learn a lot from them and feel the beauty of the culture from different countries.

In my opinion, ancient Chinese myths and stories are rich in content, most of them are short in length and not very narrative. But the ancient Greek mythology story mostly is the long huge system, has the detailed story plot, gives the human imagination the space.

In Chinese mythology, most gods are far away from mortals, which gives people a mysterious feeling. The mythology is mainly to eulogize the ancient heroes and the dedication of the emperors. They have the duty to protect the people. In ancient Greek mythology, gods are all human. They will quarrel and envy like human beings It gives a feeling of closeness.

Although there is no complete plot and systematic genealogy of mythological characters in ancient Chinese mythology, they have distinct Oriental cultural characteristics, especially the spirit of morality. On the one hand, this moral spirit is the inherent characteristics of ancient myths, on the other hand, it is the pride of the postnatal people. In ancient Greek mythology, the criteria for God's praise and criticism are mostly wisdom and strength.

The ancient Greeks worshipped gods, but they didn't give them too much divinity, and they didn't take them as the standard of moral measurement. They were just the reflection of life. The ancient Greek mythology attracts the readers with its humanistic spirit, moving story and profound ideological connotation, which makes people never tire of reading. On the contrary, the divinity of ancient Chinese mythology is more than that of human nature, and the status of God is too lofty, which affects people's judgment of moral standards for thousands of years.

The God in Greek mythology has seven emotions and six desires, like the ordinary people. He is in fact the incarnation of human beings. Some gods are smart, strong, brave and upright, while others are treacherous, cruel and merciless. The Olympic gods are capricious and dramatic expression. They will do bad things for their own interests if they take the words of God and man, i.e. God and man in the same shape. It is the depiction of people's self-consciousness and primitive desire. Zeus is passionate, Apollo is strong and confident, Hector is brave and resolute, Achilles is cruel and indifferent.

The focus of Chinese mythology is to deify people, that is to say, they are different from each other. The image of the gods it created is positive and tall, without human desire. They are the embodiment of power, justice and morality. They have the spirit of dedication, and they can sacrifice themselves to help people. This basically shows the Chinese cultural and moral standards. Dayu controlled the water three times and didn't enter the house, Kuafu chased the sun, Nuwa made people, Pangu opened up the world and so on.

The protagonists in Chinese mythology are very heroic, do not have human fireworks, have no seven emotions and six desires, as if there are no shortcomings. Mythical figures like Fu Xi, Nu Wa, Yan Di, Huang Di, Zhuan Xu, Di Ku, Yao, Shun, and Yu are all lofty, clean, and highly valued in personal conduct and moral cultivation.

But Greek mythology is different, and the shortcomings of our human beings are possessed by the characters in Greek mythology. Like seven passions and six desires, love vanity, greed, lust, hate, and jealousy, they even care more than humans. Complex personality, human thoughts and feelings, seven emotions and six desires, ruthlessness and ruthlessness, cunning and suspiciousness, jealousy and nature, betrayal of righteousness, irresponsibility are all available. Sometimes it is not even as good as people morally. Just like the jealous goddness---Hera, we all can see her dislike towards every woman that is close to her husband Zeus. Of course, even in today's world, it is not a relatively appropriate behaviour.

In my opinion, the difference between Greek mythology and Chinese mythology is obvious, and I think there are two main differences.

First, the main difference is the image of God. Most of the gods in Chinese mythology are kind and friendly. They love and protect people. Nu Wa made up the holes in the sky with colorful stones and sacrificed her life to protect people from disasters. Kuafu chased the sun, and finally died due to overwork. He was looking for ways to make people better grow food.n Greek mythology, there are many kinds of gods. For example, Zeus punished Prometheus because Prometheus stole fire for humans. He even created Pandora ’s box to punish humans and brought them to humans Sickness, disaster and suffering. Although there are also good gods, in Greek mythology, there are more gods that hurt humans. At the same time, these gods have a richer personality. They will be jealous, proud, and combative. They are not always benevolent like the gods in Chinese mythology.

Second, the world system of Greek mythology is different from that of Chinese mythology.Greek mythology has a very rigorous world system, and every relationship between gods and gods is clearly recorded. For example, many lovers of Zeus caused Hera ’s jealousy. Hercules ’mother was one of Zeus’ lovers. She was afraid to Hera harm her child and sent Hercules away. As a result, Hercules was taken back to the city by Athena.Hera fed milk to Hercules, which later made Hera want to kill Hercules when she knew his identity, but failed. But she used a trick to make Hercules kill his wife and child, which eventually caused Hercules to do 12 great tasks for atonement. On the contrary, Chinese mythology does not have such a magnificent world system, and there is no obvious relationship between many gods. In each myth story, the god is basically the object of description. For example, Change flying to the moon tells the story of Change, and Jingwei reclamation tells the story of Jingwei. There is no obvious connection between the two stories.

The above is the biggest difference between Greek mythology and Chinese mythology.Of course, there are many differences between the two, but I think these two differences are the most important and obvious.

Greek mythology is different from Chinese mythology in many ways. In terms of content, Chinese mythology emphasizes the struggle between human and God, while ancient Greek mythology focuses more on the struggle between God and God. In form, Chinese mythology is an independent fragment, while Greek mythology is a long story with coherence and integrity. In the characters, Chinese heroes were the incarnation of saints, with high moral level, while the heroes of ancient Greece showed the publicity of human nature, exposing the defects of human nature.

I think the biggest difference is the heroes between Chinese mythology and Greek mythology. The images of Chinese heroes are mostly solemn. Based on the background of farming culture, they were more conservative and reserved. Most of them had no concerned for themselves, no envy, no greed for fame and status and only for the people. They did a lot of things to help others, even sometimes might give their own lives. They thought that the interest of the group is higher than that of the individual. For example, Yan emperor, one of the three emperors, was industrious and brave. He invented the five cereals and agriculture, so was also called Shen Nong. He was distressed to see people ill. So he decided to find a solution. After many times of poisoning, he tasted hundreds of herbs, found medical herbs and grains for the common people to satisfy their hunger. Finally He died due to the taste of Gelsemium elegans. His achievements are indelible For the people's life and health, he had paid his own life.

Although the heroes in Greece also had a good side, they were more arbitrary, indulgent, as well as the dark and selfish side of human nature, and paid more attention to personal interests. Achilles is a national hero who is brave and good at war. But after his good friend Patroclus died in the war, the rage made Achilles become a bloodthirsty devil, killing endlessly. When Agamemnon invaded his booty, Achilles denounced him publicly and refused to fight. It is right for him to scold Agamemnon for his selfishness, but it is not appropriate for him to strike stubbornly, which had brought a lot of losses to the Greek allied forces. It can be seen that he was also narrow-minded and cruel.

To sum up, the heroes in Greek mythology have more abundant characters. They are complex and changeable. Comparatively speaking, I think the characteristics of Chinese heroes are single.

Chinese mythology is remarkably different from GReek mythology. This difference reflects the profound differences in temperament and character between the two nations. Greek mythology is full of a happy and dramatic atomosphere. THeir systems of gods is gennerally devoid of divinity, but is extremely rich in almost human characteristics. Their God , Zeus, for example, had none of a Chinese god . On the contrary, Zeus had all the advantages and disadvantages of a mortal man. He loved women , he was impulsive, he was jealous. He is often taken in by credulity. The Greeks let their god of love laugh and tease the king who had been deprived of his freedom oflove. Love torments and perplexes God - one of the highest ironies that man can conceive of a god! And the right to love is higher than god, which also reflects a fundamental  Greek concept of life. "They pursue something wholeheartedly, and always meet with the opposite of what it seeks. Yet without any doubt, without thinking of itself inreverse, he remained confident in himself and his business.

The Olympian gods are not only a symbol of natural power, but also a dramatic expression of human nature.

The differences between The ancient Greek and Chinese mythologies

As we all known, myth shows out spirits and the connotation of a nation, and different nations have different kinds of myths. There are countless differences between these two old nation’s myths, and I will list a few of them below.

Firstly, the system. Frankly,on the one hand, the ancient Greek’s myth not only performed a complete system, which could also be pass on. The gods of it have there own jobs and are different from each other, which became a power,or rights system.

On the other hand, the Chinese myths are separated from each other, they cannot be a complete system,in another word, every little story is independent. Like Kuafu daily,The han that mends,The yellow emperor and so on. Gods have barely relationship with each other.

Secondly, the image figures are a lot different as well. The gods in the ancient Greek are more like human that been characterized to have perfect shapes and appearances, like Zeus. While the ancient Chinese gods are more like half animal half human, means they’re mysterious and have unbelievable powers.

Last but not least, the most important thing is,that the natures of these two myths are are different. The ancient Greek myths, which base on the gods, the gods are center of the giant spirit. Meanwhile, the Chinese myths, human’s,or man’s will and power of spirit take the leading position, even the gods need to serve the human.Pangu separated the earth and the sky for human,Nuwa created human, and helped the fix the sky...

In one word, the difference between these two myths is the meanings to there nation are different.
