Hello, this is Ms Ren! I should say thank you all for giving me credit on my English pronunciation. I love it!
If you want to get fluent English pronunciation and even get an American accent, here are some tips for you.
1. You can listen to American accents regularly through VOA special English news, TED Talks and animation movies, like Zootopia, Monsters University and Toy Storys etc. These three different styles of programs can make your brain get used to different tempo and rhythm. VOA special English is designed for English learners, with slow pronumciation for you to follow. TED Talk are the speeches in formal occasions. Animation movies are particularly helpful for English learners as the language in them are interesting, lively and close to life.
2. Follow and imitate the English in these programs and movies you like. Record your voice speaking naturally. Then compare how you speak with the American English speakers. Compare things like tempo, rhythm, how you pause between sentences, where you stress sounds and how the consonant links with the vowels etc.
3. Listen to American country music, sing with the song you like when you are relaxed.
4. If you have time, sign up in my English Pronunciation Course.
Ren is really the kind of teacher I met who can teach people very well. She not only teaches us knowledge points in textbooks, but also teaches us a lot of methods and skills on how to learn English. This is what she often said: it is better to teach people to fish than to teach people to fish.
