This land has a history of more than 300 years, once belonged to their parents and ancestors, the couple has a deep emotion for this land, their children also grew up on this land, with irreplaceable memories and emotional connections. They want their children to carry on the family legacy and continue their connection to the land. According to the article, the couple have a deep love for the land and hope to pass on the "secret message" of the land to the next generation. This shows that they want their children to inherit and understand the way of life, culture and traditions associated with the land, maintaining continuity between the family and the land.

For a father, he is the pillar of the family, so he has more responsibility and obligation, hoping that his descendants can pass on this responsibility on the land. From his mother's point of view, he was a person who only took care of his own affairs and did not listen to or say anything about the outside world, but in his father's self-account, he expressed that he did not listen or speak, and that he actually knew more than he had expressed, so his implicit responsibility was heavier. The theme I want to express is not to forget the original ideal and ambition, and to keep the mission in mind. Children come out of the countryside, their roots are rooted in this land, and it is this land that nurtures them. What parents want is not only to keep their children by their side, but also to pass on the responsibility of the land and not to forget where they came from. In the first paragraph of the article, it is also stated that they have lived in this land for many years, and their feelings for this land are not only their home, but also a heritage and responsibility. As parents want to continue this inheritance, and they are old, so their hopes are pinned on their children. His land really needs someone to inherit it, which is the strong desire of  parents.

    1. Connection to heritage and roots

    • In the text, the old couple has a deep - rooted connection to the land. The land represents their heritage and family history. For example, they have spent their entire lives working on the land, and it holds memories of their ancestors. The husband might remember how his father and grandfather toiled on the same piece of land. Passing on the land is a way to ensure that the family's connection to the past and their cultural roots are maintained.

    2. Value of simplicity and a traditional way of life

    • The land provides a simple and meaningful way of life. The couple's life on the land is full of natural rhythms. They know when to plant, when to harvest, and how to live in harmony with nature. By passing on the land, they hope their children will understand and appreciate this traditional way of life. For instance, the text might describe how they enjoy the fruits of their own labor, like the fresh vegetables they grow and the simple pleasures of watching the crops grow. They want their children to have the opportunity to experience this kind of contentment and the value of a life close to nature.

However, if the couple adheres to the traditional land-based lifestyle, such as carefully tending to the farmland every day, following the ancient farming schedules and planting methods, and enjoying the peaceful rural life, it is worthy of admiration. For example, they work from dawn to dusk on the land, grow healthy and organic agricultural products, and share the joy of harvest with their neighbors, which reflects their love for the traditional lifestyle and respect for nature.

If it is mentioned in the text that the children are exposed to a lot of new technologies, such as using modern equipment to manage agriculture, while the couple refuses to accept these new things, it cannot be simply said that they are unable to keep up with the times. Perhaps they just have their own profound and traditional understanding of the land, believing that the traditional farming methods can better ensure the quality of the land's output and the authenticity of their own lives.
