Origin: There are many theories about the origin of the Qipao style. One is represented by Mr. Zhou Xibao, who believes that it is directly developed from the robe of the flag woman in the Qing Dynasty. There are also views that its source should be the West Zhou narrow tube of sackcloth or the pre-Qin and Han Dynasties of deep clothing.

    ● Revolution in the *: In the 1920s, under the influence of Western culture, the shape of cheongsam changed, and the lower hem rose to the knee, making it more light and crisp and tight with the body. By the 1940s, cheongsam tended to be simple and practical.

    ● Modern development: After the 1950s, cheongsam gradually faded from the life of mainland women, and became the dress for literary workers and the wives of national leaders when they visited. After the 1980s, with the emphasis on traditional culture, as well as the influence of films and fashion shows, Qipao revived in the mainland and went to the world.

The constant changes of various elements such as collars, skirts, sleeves and hemlines reflect the constant pursuit of aesthetics. These changes completely get rid of the bondage, so that the Eastern female body and curves fully show. The modified Qipao became the standard dress for Chinese women in the 1930s. However, after the founding of the People's *, people became interested in trendy clothing, and diversified women's clothing made cheongsam once out of people's sight. However, with the renewed emphasis on traditional culture, cheongsam has returned to people's vision again. It not only represents the charm of Chinese women, but also witnesses the changes and development of China.
